Non-Goal of the Week: 03/07/22

It was difficult to choose the NGOTW while watching the Manchester Derby on Sunday. City was perfectly in-sync, creating a plethora of non-goals. In the end we chose one so good that the architect himself was in awe--a non-goal so fantastic that Pep himself reacted just like the fans watching at home all over the world did. Here's João Cancelo's overhead kick from way out that forced a good save from David de Gea.

I don't even really know what to say about this one. There are actually several non-goals in this play: Walker's run, Bernardo Silva's split pass into space, Walker's head-up look to find Cancelo at the edge of the box, and then everything Cancelo does: making himself an option, his footwork to get his body in the right position and then the shot that requires de Gea to make a tough save. It's all too much to handle, hence the Guardiola non-goal ecstacy face. Hope y'all have a great week!
